MediaPlus allows you to upload video and audio files, automatically generates captions, and makes it easy to share media with students in Canvas.

How to Upload Videos to MediaPlus

To upload media, first log in to MediaPlus. From the global navigation menu at the top of the page, select Media to access your media library. This area displays all video and audio files you have previously uploaded.

  1. Log in to MediaPlus and select the Media option in the navigation menu along the top of the page.
  2. Select Upload Media in the upper-right corner.
  3. Add files from your computer by either:
    • Clicking the light gray upload area to open your file browser, or
    • Dragging and dropping one or more files into the upload area.
  4. (Optional) If you've already created a Collection, select it before uploading. Collections are organized groupings of media that can be shared with other faculty or staff for collaboration or shared ownership. We strongly recommend creating a Collection for each course.
  5. Review the Acceptable Content Policy and select I Accept.
  6. Select Upload Media.

Once the upload begins, you will be taken to the Pending Uploads area, where you can monitor upload progress.

After Uploading

Once uploads are complete, your media will appear in the My Uploads tab. From there, you can:

  • Review and manage your media
  • Edit captions and transcripts
  • Organize media into Collections or Playlists
  • Embed media into Canvas using the Rich Content Editor
