Creating Captions

MediaPlus is an in-house-designed platform for media streaming and management developed by Amazon Web Services (AWS) in partnership with ASU. This technology focuses on speed, security, and global delivery of media content for all ASU instructors and students.
Setting Up Captions
Adding captions to your videos can improve accessibility for all students. To set up captions on a video:
- Locate the video within MediaPlus.
- Click the “Edit” button.
- Click on the “Captions/transcript” tab.
- Auto-generated captions and transcripts will appear in this area once they are ready.
- If you need to edit the auto-generated captions, click on the Download icon to the right of the caption file you would like to modify.
- Open the caption file and make any necessary changes.
- Save the file as a .VTT file.
- Navigate back to the Captions/transcript tab and click the section that says “Attach Captions to Your Video.”
- Upload the caption files from your computer, and click Open.
- Set the newly edited captions to Active to make them available to viewers of the media.
